Finnbro's Map Suggestion Thread

Hey all, thanks again for admitting me into JO|SO.  I have a few map suggestions that I think would better the server and be fun for RPing and/or dueling.  I will try to put the ones I like more higher on the list.  If we're looking to have a large collection of custom maps on the server I can expand this list A LOT more, I just tried to include the maps that I would definitely pick first.

This map is on the small side (and only 14mb) but it is packed with enough features for both training and RP that I think its well worth adding to this server's rotation.  It has an NPC room, some training rooms, duel rooms and meeting rooms as well as the ability to go outside the Monastery and teleport to a different location with lots of grass and trees.  All in all I recommend this one the most, it is not a very well known map but one of my all time favorites.  This map would either fall in the Jedi category or the Neutral category.

This is a truly excellent map especially for this clan's purposes.  It is less than 25mb and the map itself is decently expansive.  There are lots of great dueling rooms, scenery and training features on this map and I highly recommend you guys add this one.  This is most likely a Jedi map but I suppose it could be negotiable.

This is a truly fantastic map for training especially, but really any clan function in general.  I think you guys would really enjoy this one.  All kinds of training rooms for combat, jumping and more.  I believe there is a password protected admin room too.  Most likely a neutral map.  Only ~21mb.  Check it out!

This map is very good for RP and obviously would be a Jedi map.  Lots of rooms with good scenery and features.  Good dueling and council areas.  Again, very small at 26mb.  If we're looking for good RP maps this one is a no-brainer.

I had to include a Sith themed one of course, and this map is a great Sith map for clan purposes.  The screenshots show you all you really need to see on the map, its very dark and Sith-like.  Good for RP and dueling.  And less than 10 mb to boot!

This map is on the larger side at about 51mb but it is well worth it.  If you enjoy the default Taspir map (like me ) this map will blow your mind!  So many extra features and areas and the textures on the map are jaw dropping.  Even if you don't add this map to the server you definitely should check it out anyways, its pretty great.  I would say its a Sith themed map but could be Neutral.

This is a solid Council Building map, its pretty lightweight (only ~17mb) and has some decent features.  Jedicouncilgcx is a good alternate to this map so its not really needed per se.  Council Building BB isn't anything groundbreaking but its a nice map for RP and can be Neutral.  

Tell me if you want more because this list only scratches the surface of the great custom maps in Jedi Academy!

NOT ADDED - I'm sorry and I do respect that this is your favorite map but it just seems kind of plain and small; arguably even as if quite a bit of the parts of the map look very similar to other maps we already have on the server

NOT ADDED - We had this on the server before, but not many of the members found it to be all that interesting
~Terminative 3 Home 2.0~
NOT ADDED - Seems kind of plain and we are trying to reserve spots for the first set of maps on the votemap list (there comes a point where you can't see every map on the list unfortunately)

ADDED - We had this before as well I will not lie, but I did not notice how small the file size was and thinking on it looking through the pictures, it does have potential for Sith..
~Taspir Power Complex V3~
 This is argueable... I like it, and I don't... I would certainly suggest putting this in a poll on General Polls; if members sincerely seem interested in it I will add it for sure.

~Council Building BB~
^Same as Taspir really; we had this map before we had JA++ though so we also couldn't noclip through walls then.... So it has even more potential than it had.

Also note that all of these maps I have chosen to NOT ADD; you can put in separate polls in General Polls as well and if members seem interested then I'll add them  

Just don't be afraid to search for potentially better maps either!

Ok cool thanks for the criticism, I will see if I can find more that are better for the server.

I did some more looking around and here are a few more maps I thought would be closer to your criteria.  I really do like our line up of maps on the server but if we want to have an RP element on the server I think we should have more varied locations especially areas in the Star Wars Universe.  Here is another small list of maps I came up with.  I expect a lot of these will be turned down since I know you don't have much space left on the server to host maps, just thought I'd throw out some more ideas in case you hadn't seen these maps before.

This map is essentially an inhabitable asteroid with a lot of areas to explore and secrets to discover.  Its about 20mb and very good for clans.  I believe you can do space battles on there.  It would definitely be a Neutral map.

This is a map from 2012 and it is basically a large Sith training academy in a mountain.  I have seen a little of the map and it is pretty impressive.  According to Filefront the map is humongous and good for group exploration!  The map is ~75mb so its on the larger side, check it out for yourself and see if you think its worth it.

This is a map that has the areas from the final battle scenes from Star Wars Episode 1 and is a very quality map.  There are a lot of quality maps based on movie locations and if you're looking for more of those I can suggest more, as well as maps from different games like Jedi Outcast, Star Wars Battlefront etc.  If this isn't really what you're looking for I understand.

I have played on a handful of RP servers over the years and this map was on a couple of them.  I really enjoyed the amount of space and Star Wars related RP potential the map has.  Its a very sandy Tatooine-like map with a lot of buildings and rooms to explore.  I'm not super experienced with this map but I remember really enjoying it when playing it.  The major problem with this map is its size, over 100mb.  I definitely understand if this map is not considered if storage space is an issue, just thought I'd include it in case you'd be interested.  Most likely a Neutral location.

This map would work great for a neutral City setting for RP. Its also only 26mb so very manageable. If you're looking for a good Star Wars City map this is a very solid choice.

A neutral looking map that seems to have both FFA and RP potential. Lots of different areas with great scenery. Just under 30mb. Definitely give this one a download.

I couldn't find too many more. If youre looking for Star Wars movie universe specific maps I can suggest some.

Adding all suggested maps except for FFA Episode 1 and Alzoc 3 Capital; which I don't believe are bad choices or bad maps, just not necessarily what we are looking for. Great finds Finnbro! We can test them out on the server for a couple of days to see how things go/how much we enjoy some of this selection. I'll also be adding Hexes Ghetto 2 recommended by Lawliet (similar to Alzoc 3 Capital but better imo). Note that these maps are however subject to change/be swapped out for maps deemed "better" in the future
